Wind Pack

Message

Raven scented the air again, and noticed the scent of wolf was getting stronger. She smelled the road monsters, too, and scrunched her nose. She trotted faster, picking up their individual scents; Denali's, the freshest, then both Silentbreeze's and Aries's scents mingled together. She breathed a sigh of relief and trotted until she could see the outline of all three. She didn't want to bother them, so she sat down on her haunches and watched, unsure of what to do, or how to react.

Aries laughed and licked his leg. She blinked and layed on her back in a loving submission. "Love you too..." She said in a cooing voice. She watched him closely, a mixture of emotion in her eyes. Her tail swiped at Silentbreeze's pelt and gave a low whine. She looked up at the cloudless sky with hope and warmth filling her chest. She didn't think there was any greater love then this. Aries's pelt shone with angelic sheen and her eyes blinked like liquid when she gazed at Silentbreeze, forgetting Raven was even there.

"No kidding!" Silentbreeze said looking at his leg. "That two-leg nearly got my pelt!" he growled. He shivered slightly, but it had nothing to do with the wind this time. He let Aries soothe him as he sucked in her warm scent. "I love you," he murmmered again as he watched her breath...in and out..in and out.

Aries gave a soft giggle that floated along the breeze. She licked Silentbreeze's ears and layed her head next to his. The sun was setting, it was probably a good idea they head back to camp, but she felt like she couldn't get up. She wanted to sit there with Silentbreeze forever. "We'll just warn he pack and tell them to keep a look out in the future." she said in a light rustic voice. Aries twitched her ear, she wished there was a greater way to show her love for silentbreeze. She swished her tail softly as the grass blew like an ocean and she gave a deep sigh.

Raven paced nervously around the camp, her stomach knotting with nervousness. She didn't feel like eating, and although her paws longed for her to stop, she didn't sit down to rest. She wasn't usually paranoid, but they had been gone long enough. Her eyes fixed on the entrance, determined and hopeful they would return. She sighed and briskly walked over, trying to scent them down. "Silentbreeze! Aries! Denali?" her voice cracked, and she realized just how tired she really was. But she wouldn't give up. She tracked their scent down to the open meadows, but then thought she smelled some of the road monsters' scents. "They must've gone that way," she decided and followed the scent trail. But what if she was wrong?

Sleepiness made him snappy and he sighed,"Who knows? Two-legs are retarded!" He got to his paws and lightly snuggled closer to Aries and seemed to smile before he closed his eyes letting her scent drown him making him feel utterly safe.

Aries nodded "Thoes poor wolves... why would a two-leg do such a thing?" She asked in angry curiosity.

*They didnt call him a Shaman for nothing* he thought considerately as Denali left them. "Thank you for everything,"he said his eyes filled with gratitude. Licking his ankle it seemed that the swelling seemed to go down and he let out a deep sigh and rested his head on his paws. "I never want to go through that again," he remarked to Aries remembering the pelts of all his fellow wolves who lost there lives to the hunter. He shuttered internely and lookedup at her his golden gaze soft and drowsy.

Denali rose to his paws, smiling down at Aries and Silentbreeze. "Silentbreeze, your ankle's going to heal in no time." Seeing the desperate, worried look on Aries's face, he asked, "Do you want me to leave you two alone together for a while? It appears you two have a lot to discuss, am I right?"

Aries just nodded, she knew it would be ok, and quite frankly she felt a little silly cowering here like a pup and not being able to leave silentbreeze for even a moment. It was every time she closed her eyes though that she re-lived thoes life changeing moments, it burned in her memory like a summer wood fire and scared her to death. She wrapped her tail securely around her paws and waited silently for Denali to give them the report on Silentbreeze's ankle.
