Message I knew Philip Lamberty at the U.I.W in the summer 2006. We played a little piece of music in his church. |

Message I knew Fr. Lamberty at University of Houston. I was raised as a Southern Baptist, but in college, at University of Houston, I became a Roman Catholic. Fr. Lamberty was instrumental in showing me how loving and inclusive the Roman Catholic faith is. When he left UH, I still had not converted to the Roman Catholic faith, but I was in my 3rd or 4th year of studying it for that eventual decision. An important memory I have is when I walked across campus one sunny day in Houston, and I saw Fr. Phil playing his wooden flute. I stopped to chat with him, and although I do not recall the specific words we shared, I do recall the love for God and God's creation, including me, and including all the people we both knew, exuding from his countenance. |

Message I will miss his kind smile and laid back personality that he always have. Father Philip used to play on his guitar in front of the Campus Ministry building while I passed by to and fro from my classes. He occasionally said hello to me as we walk past each other. His small gestures of kindness are the positive things that made my day a bit easier. Father Philip will be greatly missed. |

Message I was taught by Dominicans in grade school and high school and Vincentians in college. We would often laugh if it was God, OP or God, CM but surely not God, SJ. |

Message I always remember him smiling and his willingness to spend time and share God with each student he met. His talent in music was a gift from God. Let's keep him in our prayers and thank God each day for the differences he made in each of our lives. Let us rejoice in that he now lives with Christ! |

Message Father Philip was not only a good story teller, but also a good teacher, the actions louder than words type. On one occasion while I was walking to the Post Office on campus, an elderly gentleman with comes often to sell jewlery was there with his spread. Father Philip was talking with him and as he said good bye, reminded the gentleman to let him know when he needed a break so he could come and replace him for that time. Thanks Father Philip for the lessons in life and for the music. |
