You won't remember me Tommo, but I was one of the Pinkies on board from 1962- 1963. I even slept through the night action when Alan was killed - typical pinkie! A professionally framed photo of the Barrosa takes a pride of place on my wall.

Hi,

I found your website through Google. My friend Daniel Yap and I are from Tawau. We created this website 10 years ago: http://www.oocities.com/infotawau2000/ and would like to release a new version soon.

We are trying to get in touch with people from around the world to contribute to this website. We believe that you can provide valuable pieces of Tawau's history especially during the confrontation era etc.

If you are interested, please get back to me by dropping me an email richard.ker@gmail.com.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Richard

Dave, I was Ian Sutherland's step son. Ian was Chuck's brother. I was only 11 when Chuck was killed, but remember the press being outside our house trying to get a story from Ian. We only knew Chuck as uncle Alan. My youngest brother was born in December 1963 and was named Alan after his uncle. Sadly, Ian died on boxing day 2007 so did not get to see your story in the Aylesbury newspaper.
Thankyou on behalf of his nephews.

I served on the Barossa in 65 as a seaman gunner and saw the risky operations that were carried out. Alan's memory lived on during that time and I am pleased to see a site dedicated to him. I am hoping to visit KL this year and will visit the cemetry to pay my respects to Alan.

Lovely site, Dave. So carefully planned. I did enjoy the atmosphere of times past and hopeful and handsome people. I guess you've been to so many places in the world!

Hi everyone, I reformatted my hard drive and unfortunately lost some e-mail addresses.
Please resend them if you would like copies of any pictures we take in Kuala Lumpur.
Rest assured we will pass on all your thoughts to Chuck. We have a wreath from The British Legion to lay as well so he will be remembered.
Cheers
