Very disappointing to hear the Forth Bridges Accordion Band has been informed by the Ferry Fair Committee there not being invited to parade in this years Ferry Fair. Considering the work the band did (for free) last year such as the procession and touring the pubs of Queensferry all afternoon of the Fair day performing and the positive feedback we had from the general public about our performance on the day, its a sure kick in the teeth to our members for trying to do something worth while for the community.

In response to the post by QUEENSFERRY RESIDENT.

To the Ferry Fair Festival Committee.
Congratulations on this years Ferry Fair Festival. You all did such a wonderful job as usual. I would like to say how much I admire you all for the time and effort you put in throughout the year.
The Ferry Fair has had a profound effect on my Children since moving to this wonderful town in such a way I am happy that we made the move from the South of England.
I wonder if you are fully aware of the effect the fair has on all our children.
Thank you for your patience and determination to make the Fair what it is.
and thanks for being such a great example and accept my sincere gratitude.

Sally Whitehouse.

My colleague Diane is quite correct in what she says. I too have been involved with the Fair for a number of years and have been a committee member for most of them. Furthermore I on behalf of the committee have been appealing almost on a weekly basis throughout the year in the local newspaper for ideas, suggestions, proposals for changes etc and can tell you that this year we have not had one single constructive response. So I say to Queensferry Resident, come to the AGM or if you can't get in touch with me and give me your proposals. Just email david@ferryfair.co.uk

To Queensferry Resident - we will be having an AGM in November, so please come along with your ideas
I've been on the committee for 12 years and unfortunately there have been very few new faces in that time that have come along to help us oldies, we are always open for new ideas and helpers

we are both long time residents of south queensferry (we even have the webbed toes and hairy palms to prove it!) and must admit that the ferry fair is losing some of it's zest. what can we do to revive this once glorious festival?!

back in 1987 the late jimmy liddel invented the bellstane walk because the ferry fair was suffering from a lack of attention. to be short it had grown stagnant.

with his new idea (this is where closing the high street also came from) he attracted more of what the ferry fair is all about (people).

the idea i put forward to you is simple. we must somehow incorporate south queensferry's history into games or even about some of the more infamous characters that have past through and noticed the true beauty of our hometown.

all the best.
