Thanks for the leaflet, eye opening stuff. I saw the story yesterday of Harris saying it is not true what you say about him (over extending the time limit on abortion) and then he deleted the website links on his site where he has previously said he wants to extend the time limit! Looks like he is scared! How can we trust anyone who deletes things from public viewing when he is questioned??

It is not that natural medicines do not work for cancer and heart disease it is just the mainstream media do not report of the success cases.

And yes I do know people who have cured heart disease with hawthorn and high dose garlic and in alternative literature many success cases are listed. I myself would opt for this treatment.

And yes there are sucess stories with cancer without the treatment you suggest but it is not something you are likely to find in your medical jounals because the represent pharma interests.

Less than 2% of human illnesses (1.16%) are ever seen in animals.

95% of drugs passed by animal tests are immediately discarded as useless or dangerous to humans.

At least 50 drugs on the market cause cancer in laboratory animals. They are allowed because it is admitted the animal tests are not relevant.

Aspirin fails animal tests, as does digitalis (a heart drug), cancer treatments, insulin (causes animal birth defects), penicillin and other safe medicines. They would have been banned if vivisection were heeded.

In the court case when the manufacturers of Thalidomide were being tried, they were acquitted after numerous experts agreed that animal tests could not be relied on for human medicine.
Blood transfusions were delayed 200 years by animal studies, corneal transplants were delayed 90 years.

And for the record at least 450 methods exist with which we can replace animal experiments.

I have had my life turned upside down by drugs my doctor gave me. After misdiagnosing me for 6 years I was in an awful state. Animal tested drugs did not help me, it was only went I stepped away from conventional drugs that I made progress so please think carefully before saying there is no alternative because many many people have found this alternative for themselves.

Oh and one more thing, where do you think the vast majority of vetinary drugs come from. Oh yes the drugs that are found to efficacious on ANIMALS usually when they are being tested for human use. Without animal testing the development of vetinary medication would be retarded by several decades at the very least.

18,000 people die every year in the UK due to drugs, do you think maybe, just maybe, that that figure might have a correlation with the fact that there is usually one common fact with the people being given drugs: THEY ARE ILL.

Noone wants to do vivisection, it's expensive, it's complicated, it has lots of regulation (quite rightly). There is a major reason we do engage in it however THERE ISN'T A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE. We would use all the alternatives you ever so wisely recommend with your no doubt in depth science educations IF THEY WORKED AND WERE PRACTICAL.

Fair play if you want to save all the animals by volunteering for testing on yourselves but until you are doing that you have no right to use any of vast majority (>99%) of medications that are tested on animals. Vegetarians don't like the concept of killing animals for food (generally) and guess what, THEY DON'T EAT MEAT!
