Fishing Report Yep. We all hit our loosing streak sooner or later. I went for a good while last summer without catching ANYTHING while everyone else I took with me caught fish. I was racking my brain and trying all kinds of crazyness trying to figure out why I was not getting bites on my rods. |

Fishing Report WW you just need to pay your dues. I have learned some good spots and know when to fish them. Try to find a area you think would hold fish. Scout out the entire area, Channels, flats, holes structure, secondary channels. I am talking 20-25 trips in this one area. You will learn what the fish want and then you can apply it to other places. My best advice is go to a place where there is little or no fishing done and start there. Those fish don't have a sore mouth. I have my days were I struggle too, so chin up and GO FISHING. |

Fishing Report New to this site and I love it. I went out this past weekend for the first time in 2 years, I stopped going because we were not catching big boys anymore. Was out the from 7pm to 2am, cut shad, fished 3 holes down river, and 2 up river, 1 near 295 bridge. NOTHING AT ALL. I am really discouraged. |

Fishing Report Dangit. Been tied up with housework, yard work, and boat work and have not been able to get out at all like I wanted to this week. Got 3 more days before I start back into my work rotation. Maybe wed night I can squeeze one in. |

Fishing Report I thought I would post this as soon as I got home so maybe I could sleep. We wore them out. I mean AWESOME night. First spot 10 minutes in 68lber, while he was in the boat had a 14lb gar on and a 59lber. I have some awesome pics to post later. We also got 3 more in the 30's and one 20 something. About 6 or 8 small ones. I had a BLAST. I love it when you catch them in the first spot. It makes the rest of the trip relaxed. OH man what a night. |

Fishing Report You can find some stripers around lights at night. I have a few places I like to fish for them but they are Top Secret. Wont even tell my best friend. Remember that the aren't in season right now. I like drifting small cat bait by them with no weight. Hope this helps. |

Fishing Report I did it too first few times out. 24oz Bank sinkers sure look like a good idea, until your untangling them. lol. |

Fishing Report ok i learned my lesson i used to 20 ounce sinkers on each side. it took 20 minutes to get that straight. my bouys are 6x11 so that seemed to work good. i will def get bigger weights. thanks for the advice on the gill net. fished up river last nite at pump house did well. |

Fishing Report I use 5 lb weights from walmart. They are in the workout section. They are about 3 dollars a piece. The best thing is, is that they can't get weaved into the net. I have made that mistake before. Never use big lead sinkers for a gill net. |

Fishing Report I would go with 5 lbs on each end. Make sure your floats are pretty big too. |

Fishing Report hey guys, I'm switching over from a cast net to gill net as primary bait catcher. Should i put weight on both ends of the net or just one? |
